How we verify
Every price, status and chore mark links to the page that states it, with the date we checked. If we can't source a value, we leave it blank.
We don't test robots ourselves. Every mark and value reports what the maker, an authorized seller or a named news report says, with the source linked.
The rules
- Sources first. We use the maker's own pages, authorized sellers, and named news reports. Each of the 313 facts on this site carries its URL, a short quote and a date. Spec rows link the maker or seller page they come from.
- A pre-order is not "available". "Orderable now" means you can place an order today; it is not a promise of stock or a delivery date. A deposit or reservation is a pre-order, and we say so.
- Status words. "Not for sale" means the maker offers no way to buy, pre-order or ask sales for it. "Unclear" means we can't confirm a current way to buy it, for example when a buy link doesn't lead to a listing or a pre-sale date has passed with no newer news. Shipping can also rest on a dated, named report of the maker saying sales continue; such robots show "Not confirmed orderable" unless a store page shows an order option.
- Autonomy claimed only. When a maker says an unsold robot acts on its own, we label it "Autonomy claimed only", not "Autonomous".
- Orderable is not in stock. "Orderable now" means the maker or an authorized seller shows an order button for the edition we list, quoted with a date. That isn't proof of stock, so we quote the seller's own stock or delivery wording. If we can't confirm an order option, we say "not confirmed orderable" and leave it out of the counts.
- A demo is not a capability. A chore is marked "Sold robot does it, per maker" only when the maker says the robot sold today does it without a remote operator.
- Claims on robots you can't buy stay claims. "Claimed or demoed only" covers demos and maker claims about robots that aren't sold or delivered yet, even when the maker says the robot does it on its own.
- Remote operators are named. If a chore needs a person driving the robot, it gets "With a person driving it".
- Specs vs reports. Spec tables and drawings use only the maker's or an authorized seller's figures. News reports and old targets appear as dated facts.
- Where it sells. We mark US sales "yes" or "no" only when a quoted source says so. Otherwise it reads "not stated"; we never guess from words like "international" or "contact sales".
- Prices are USD as published. We don't convert euros or yuan. Rumored prices are labeled.
- Business-only robots are labeled and kept out of "buy today" lists and the chore matrix.
- Thin pages stay out of search. A robot with too few sourced facts is listed but not indexed until we have more.
The four chore marks
- Sold robot does it, per maker
- With a person driving it
- Claimed or demoed only
- Not claimed
"Not claimed" only means no maker or named source says the robot does it.
How often we check
We re-check prices and status weekly. Launches and changes tracks major announcements and status milestones, not a comprehensive audit log. Verification dates appear on individual robot records and facts. Last full check: Oct 24, 2026.
